Pan for Gold in downtown Dawson.

Visit our gold panning center in downtown Dawson City or Come out to the claims at the confluence of Goldbottom and Hunker creeks. We offer scheduled tours of our mine including tranportation from town.

"THE MINER'S TEN COMMANDMENTS" # VII
Thou shalt not grow discouraged, nor think of going home before thou has made thy "pile," because thou hast not "struck a lead," nor found a "rich crevice," nor sunk a hole upon a "pocket," lest in going home thou shalt leave four dollars a day, and go to work, ashamed, at fifty cents, and serve thee right; for thou knowest by staying here, thou mightst strike a lead and fifty dollars a day and keep thy manly self-respect and then go home with enough to make thyself and others happy.

They wanted the gold and they sought it ….
Robert Service in (1900)
We want the gold and we STILL seek it …
The Millar Family in (2006)

If you’re planning a trip to Yukon, Canada’s True North, we’d like to invite you to visit our operating placer gold mine located in the historic gold fields of the famous Klondike Gold Rush of 1898.

Unique

The only authentic operating placer gold mine tour in the Klondike

Educational

See placer gold mining as we do it today; learn the processes, from staking a claim to selling the gold and all that's between; compare the historical methods to the modern technologies, and hear our stories about life in the Klondike goldfields.

Fun

Placer gold mining is serious business, but trying your hand at gold panning in the creek is challenging fun and everyone who visits gets to try it. No guarantee is provided, you get to take your chances just like the old-timers -- will you find the lucky strike or head home disappointed?

TO REALLY EXPERIENCE THE HISTORICAL QUEST FOR GOLD IN THE KLONDIKE A TRIP TO DAWSON CITY JUST WOULDN'T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT SEEING A GOLD MINE AND THEN FINDING GOLD USING THE OLDEST METHOD IN THE WORLD ----- GOLD PANNING!
